What is Cellulose Casing (Wienie-Pak)?
Wienie-Pak is ViskoTeepak's shirred cellulose casing, made from regenerated cellulose extruded into a strong, tough, small-caliber tube ideal for wiener and frankfurter-type sausages. It is smoke, air and moisture permeable, giving consistent quality and efficient processing. Wienie-Pak is available clear or transparent as well as in various colours, with or without printing, and in a range of lengths and end-closures.
Types of Cellulose Casing We Offer
- Wienie-Pak Rapid Peel — treated for easy, fast peeling at high line speeds; also available in Kosher-for-Passover and non-mineral-oil versions.
- Wienie-Pak D-Tech — detectable under UV light for fully automated casing-removal and sorting systems, improving food safety by eliminating stray casing fragments.
- Wienie-Pak Window — part-pigmented casing (about 80% coloured, 20% clear) that lets you verify complete peeling while still tracking sausage colour formation during cooking.
- Wienie-Pak Multicolor / Printed — printable in up to six colours on one or both sides for branding, logos or product differentiation on retail shelves.

Wienie-Pak shrinks back and tightens around the sausage after stuffing, giving nicer shoulder formation and definition, and reducing the number of twists needed during linking — which directly improves casing-use yield.
