What is Plastic Casing (Nova)?
Nova is ViskoTeepak's engineered plastic casing line, extruded from one or multiple layers of food-grade plastic resins that are melted, formed into tubing and, for many products, stretched/oriented through a bubble process to create specific mechanical and physical properties. The casing is then stabilized through annealing for increased durability and structural integrity — producing one of the most reliable and broadest ranges of plastic casing solutions available today.
Types of Plastic Casing We Offer
- Core Series — for round/cylinder-shaped products: mortadella, chorizo, liver sausage, ground meats, pâté, soy, butter and cheese, with high yield and low weight loss.
- Shape Series — for molded and D-shaped products such as ham, poultry, vegan and cheese items, with controlled shrink and outstanding print quality.
- Industrial & Automation Series — for high-volume manufacturing: whole-muscle meats, frozen rolls, chorizo, hot-fill soups and gravies, and high-temperature cook processes.
